Key Features & The Technology Challenge

1. Semi-In-Ear Design: The earbuds rest at the entrance of your ear canal without creating a physical seal. This is comfortable for many but is the opposite of what you normally want for bass and noise cancellation.

2. Noise Cancellation: This is the biggest question. There are two types, and the YB2 likely uses the first:

   • ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation): Most likely. This uses the microphones to cancel noise for the person you’re calling, making your voice clearer on calls. This is easier to implement.

   • ANC (Active Noise Cancellation): Less likely to be effective. True ANC cancels noise for you. Without a seal, it’s very difficult for ANC to block low-frequency sounds (like engine rumble) effectively. It might only slightly reduce constant background hum.

3. Bass Enhancement: To achieve “Deep Bass” without a seal, Saiya would use digital signal processing (DSP) to electronically boost the low frequencies. This can make bass more audible, but it won’t produce the physical “feel” of bass that a sealed in-ear model provides.
