The Q21 is a personal voice amplifier that uses a wireless microphone. The core idea is that the speaker wears a small amplifier and speaker around their neck (like a pendant), and talks into a small, wireless lapel microphone.
It’s not a microphone system for recording into a camera or mixer like the others we’ve discussed. Instead, it amplifies the speaker’s voice directly into the room.
Typical Package Contents
1x Neckband Amplifier: The main unit that hangs around your neck. It contains a built-in speaker, battery, and receiver.
1x Wireless Lavalier Microphone: A small mic that clips to your collar and transmits your voice to the neckband.
Cables: Usually a USB charging cable (often Micro-USB or USB-C).
Optional: Sometimes includes a wired headset microphone as an alternative.
How It Works & Key Features
Neckband Speaker: You wear the main unit around your neck. It projects your voice forward, acting as a personal, wearable PA system.
Wireless Mic: You clip the small lavalier mic to your shirt collar. It transmits your voice wirelessly to the neckband.
UHF Transmission: Most Q21 systems use UHF for a stable connection between the mic and the amplifier, preventing dropout if you turn your head.
Rechargeable Batteries: Both the neckband and the mic have built-in batteries charged via USB.
Simple Controls: The neckband has basic buttons for power, volume up/down, and play/pause for the audio source.
Audio Input (TF Card & AUX): A key feature is that most Q21 amplifiers also have a TF/MicroSD card slot and a 3.5mm AUX input. This allows you to play background music or pre-recorded announcements through the speaker.
Primary Use Cases
The Q21 is designed for situations where a person needs to be heard by a small to medium-sized group without holding a microphone or being tethered to a large sound system.
Tour Guides: Perfect for museum, factory, or city tours. The guide can speak naturally while facing the group, and the sound follows them.
Fitness Instructors: Yoga, Pilates, and aerobics teachers can give instructions over music without straining their voice.
Teachers & Educators: Useful in classrooms, especially for larger groups or noisy environments like workshops.
Public Speakers: For presentations in rooms where a full PA system is unavailable or unnecessary.
Retail & Factory Staff: For making announcements on a sales floor or in a warehouse.
